Part 4

Challenging Questions

1. How could a Loving God send people to hell?

How could people choose Hell over a loving God?

Matthew 11:28-30—Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy  burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am  humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and  the burden I give you is light.”

2. What happens to the person who says they believe, but they LIVE as though they don’t.

1 Samuel 16:7—But the Lord said to Samuel...“People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Luke 17:6—The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say  to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!”

God honors mustard seed size FAITH

Live your life in such a way that there is no QUESTION

3. If a person commits suicide, will they go to Heaven?

Romans 10:9-10—If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

4. What happens to babies and children who die? Would God send them to hell?

John 10:10 NIV—The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may  have life, and have it to the full.

Isaiah 7:15—By the time this child is old enough to choose what is right and reject what is wrong,  he will be eating yogurt and honey.

James 4:17—Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

2 Samuel 12:22-23—David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said,  ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But why should I fast when he is  dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.”

Matthew 18:10—"Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in  heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.”

Luke 18:16-17—Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children  come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these  children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will  never enter it.”

5. What do people in heaven know about us here on earth?

Hebrews 12:1—Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Whenever you WORSHIP, you are standing side by side with them.  They know they will see you in a couple of HOURS

2 Peter 3:8—But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A Day is like a thousand years  to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.

6. Will there be marriage in heaven?

Matthew 22:30—"For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this  respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”

There will be ONE marriage in heaven.

Revelation 19:6-9— Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of  mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: “Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the  Almighty, reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding  feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”
